02Summary
This is a static website with no user accounts, no contact form and no advertising networks. In concrete terms:
- No analytics or tracking. Neither Google Analytics nor any comparable reach measurement, marketing or retargeting tool is used.
- No cookies. No cookies are set – neither first-party nor third-party. A cookie banner is therefore not required.
- No external fonts and no CDN. No Google Fonts or other external resources are loaded. All files are served exclusively from this site's own server, so your IP address is not transmitted to third parties when you visit.
- No transfer to third countries. Personal data is not transferred to countries outside the EU or the EEA.
What is processed is therefore essentially only the technically necessary access data that is unavoidably generated whenever any website is retrieved (see section 03).
03Hosting and server log files
This website does not run on my own infrastructure but is operated by an external service provider (the host). The provider is:
STRATO GmbHOtto-Ostrowski-Straße 7
10249 Berlin
Germany
The host processes the data arising when this website is accessed solely on my behalf and on my instructions, on the basis of a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR. The servers used are located in Germany; no personal data is transferred to a third country.
Legal basis for using the host is Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in the secure, fast and economical provision of this website by a specialised provider.
When you access this website, the hosting provider automatically collects information transmitted by your browser and stores it in what are known as server log files. These are:
- IP address of the requesting device
- date and time of access
- name and URL of the retrieved file
- referrer URL (the previously visited page)
- browser used and its version
- operating system of the device
- volume of data transferred and notification of successful retrieval
Purpose: ensuring a trouble-free connection and convenient use of the website, evaluating system security and stability, and detecting and defending against attacks.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in the technically error-free and secure operation of this website. This data is not merged with other data sources and is not evaluated for marketing purposes.
04SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the browser address bar switching from “http://” to “https://” and by the padlock symbol in your browser. When encryption is active, the data you transmit to me cannot be read by third parties.
05Local storage of the theme preference
This website offers a choice between a light and a dark theme. By default nothing is stored: the display then follows your operating system or browser setting (“prefers-color-scheme”) automatically. That setting is only read, never transmitted.
Only when you actively switch the theme using the control in the header is your choice stored in your browser's local storage under the key dd-theme with the value “dark” or “light”, so that it is retained on your next visit.
This is not a cookie. The information remains exclusively on your device, is never transmitted to the server or to third parties, and contains no personal data whatsoever. It cannot be used to recognise you as a person.
Legal basis: the storage is strictly necessary to provide the service you have explicitly requested – the display mode you selected – and is therefore permitted without consent under § 25 (2) no. 2 TMDDG. You can clear local storage at any time via your browser settings.
06Contact by email and phone
No contact form is offered on this website. If you contact me by email or telephone, your details, including the contact data you provide, will be stored by me for the purpose of processing your enquiry and in case of follow-up questions.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to the performance of a contract or to pre-contractual measures. In all other cases the processing is based on my legitimate interest in effectively handling the enquiries addressed to me (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR).
Please note that data transmitted by unencrypted email may have security gaps. Complete protection of the data against access by third parties is not possible in that case.
07Links to external websites
This website links to external services, including LKWvermietung.de, Mietwagenvergleich.de and kimyon.de. These links are only followed when you click them; no content from those sites is loaded automatically. When you click such a link, your IP address is transmitted to the respective provider. The provider of the linked site is solely responsible for data processing there, and its privacy policy applies.
08Retention periods
Server log files are stored for a maximum of 7 days and then deleted, unless longer retention is required to preserve evidence in the event of a security-related incident. In that case the affected data is retained until the incident has been conclusively resolved.
Data from email enquiries is deleted once your enquiry has been conclusively dealt with and no statutory retention obligations prevent deletion – in particular the commercial and tax retention periods of 6 and 10 years under § 257 HGB and § 147 AO.
09Your rights as a data subject
You have the following rights vis-à-vis the controller:
- Access to the data stored about you and how it is processed (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Erasure of the data stored by me (Art. 17 GDPR), unless statutory retention obligations prevent it
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Data portability in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Withdrawal of consent given, with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR)
Right to object under Art. 21 GDPR
Where your data is processed on the basis of legitimate interests under Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR, you have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to that processing. I will then no longer process the data concerned unless I can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
An informal message to info(at)danieldeibler.de is sufficient to exercise your rights.
10Right to lodge a complaint
Without prejudice to any other legal remedy, you have the right under Art. 77 GDPR to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your personal data infringes the GDPR. The authority responsible for me is:
Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA)Promenade 18
91522 Ansbach
Germany
